The U.S. Mission in Germany is one of the largest U.S. Diplomatic Missions in the world, due in large to its vital geographical situation, its political, and commercial importance in Europe. The U.S. Mission comprises the Embassy in Berlin and five consulates in Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, and Leipzig and provides a wide array of services and support as well as playing a vital role in German American relations. The U.S. Consulate General in Frankfurt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Procurement Clerk (RPSO) (m/f/d).
You will be a trainee level Procurement Agent with the responsibility of providing timely and accurate procurement under the supervision of the Acquisition Branch Chief. This position supports all agencies at post plus in excess of 180 other posts worldwide. Performs pre-award through post-award functions for all types of simplified acquisitions, which include the procurement of, household appliances, medical-related articles and equipment (e.g., vaccines and pharmaceuticals, surgical equipment, and laboratory equipment to satisfy life-threatening needs; information technology (IT) equipment; food services; office supplies and equipment; furniture; automatic data processing (ADP) equipment and reproduction equipment; building and construction materials; automotive vehicles and parts; power supply systems and parts; sanitary equipment and water treatment supplies; packing materials; gardening tools and supplies; gas and heating oil; audio visual products; subscriptions and publications; coffins and body bags; and other supplies as required.
You have two (2) years of post-secondary education with coursework in one or more of the following fields: business management, accounting, public administration, or law; or successful completion of an apprenticeship (at least two-year (2) duration) in one of the following fields: business management, acquisitions, accounting, public administration or law.
